Bird flu fears force e-commerce changes in China

Alibaba Group Holding's Taobao Marketplace has banned auctions of live poultry, and other online companies in China have followed suit amid concerns about the H7N9 bird flu strain that has killed nine people. Additionally, 360buy Jingdong says it will cut back on face-to-face meetings with suppliers and stop serving poultry and pork in its cafeteria. Bird flu fears might keep people away from public places, a trend that could speed growth of online retail, experts say.
