Calif. middle school aims to have students thinking about college

Morada Middle School in Stockton, Calif., is aiming to create a "college going culture" by bringing students on tours of local universities and inviting middle-school alumni in to speak about their careers and education. Students also are photographed in caps and gowns, encouraged to wear clothes featuring their favorite college and make posters about colleges for class assignments. "It's just a matter of them being able to envision themselves graduating and being successful," counselor Amy Witsaman said.
