Del. political leaders support marriage-equality push

Delaware's governor, attorney general, Senate president pro tempore and House speaker this week announced a legislative effort to allow same-sex couples to marry. Delaware has recognized same-sex civil unions for about a year, but those unions would be converted to marriages on July 1 if the legislation passes. U.S. Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., has been lobbying state lawmakers on the issue.
