Report: Employer-based health insurance decreases; premiums rise

The percentage of Americans under age 65 and eligible for employer-provided health coverage declined from about 70% in 2000 to about 60% by 2011, according to a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation report. The annual premiums for health insurance jumped during the same period, from about $6,400 to about $14,500 for family coverage and from about $2,500 to about $5,000 for individual coverage, according to the report.
