10 biventricular pacemakers from Medtronic gain FDA OK for wider use

Medtronic has secured expanded FDA approval for 10 of its biventricular pacemakers -- the Consulta CRT-P and CRT-D, Brava CRT-D, Syncra CRT-P, Concerto II CRT-D, Viva XT CRT-D and S CRT-D, Protecta CRT-D and XT CRT-D, and Maximo II CRT-D systems. The devices can now be used for patients with atrioventricular block requiring right-ventricular pacing, as well as those with moderate systolic heart failure.
