Makers of women's beauty products face backlash

Dove's "Real Beauty" campaign is under fire for a viral video that critics say is offensive to women. The advertisement, which has received more than 4 million views on YouTube, shows women feeling better about themselves after wearing a "beauty patch," later revealed to be a placebo. "It makes women seem too gullible, too desperate, and overall helpless against the all-knowing master manipulators at Unilever," Time magazine's Laura Stampler wrote. Separately, waxing-kit producer Veet is being criticized for a campaign that tells women having body hair makes them risk seeming like a man.
