Minnesota approves commuter rail

Minnesota is closer to launching its first commuter rail line after Gov. Tim Pawlenty signed into law a construction project bill that provides $37.5 million for the Northstar commuter line to operate from downtown Minneapolis to communities along a 40 mile stretch. It is predicted to save commuters over 890,000 hours per year.
