Editorials: Passage of stem cell bill a victory of science

The New York Times and The Washington Post called passage by the Senate of an unrestrictive embryonic stem cell bill a win for American science, but said its likely veto means science will still be denied the support of federal funding that should be freed for the research. The Times also said a White House-supported companion to the embryonic stem cell bill, also passed by the Senate, was a "poorly considered proposal."
