Private-equity buyouts cause fallen-angel debt to triple

Private-equity buyouts have caused the volume of debt affected by firms that have fallen from investment grade, fallen angels, to triple in the past year. "The volume of debt affected by fallen angel activity has increased substantially in 2007 as a result of the TXU downgrade last month," said Diane Vazza, head of Standard & Poor's global fixed-income research group.
