Web players move into directory assistance space

Google last week unveiled the beta test of Google Voice Local Search, a voice-recognition business and services directory that users access via a toll-free number. It's somewhat similar to a service provided by Tellme Networks Inc., recently purchased by Microsoft. Yahoo! has a mobile-based directory service called oneSearch that relies on text messages as queries.
