Nearly 40% of R.I. doctors regularly use health IT, reports find

Two studies from the Rhode Island Department of Health show that almost 40% of doctors reported using electronic platforms for patient care on a regular basis. The surveys, which were conducted in collaboration with Quality Partners of Rhode Island, also found that about 25% of physicians said they use e-prescribing solutions. The data could help insurers such as UnitedHealthCare of New England in designing programs based on health IT incentives as well as the Rhode Island Quality Institute in assessing the adoption of such technologies.
