AABB gives update on effort to track transfusion-related events

About 20 to 25 hospitals are participating in an initiative that aims to keep track of blood transfusion-related adverse events in hospitals, said Barbee Whitaker, director of data and special programs for AABB. Sixty to 80 other hospitals have expressed their willingness to become part of the initiative and are taking the preparatory steps, Whitaker said.
