Best Buy, Wal-Mart split Circuit City's market share

Best Buy and Wal-Mart won about two-thirds of former rival Circuit City's market share between March and December of last year, according to a new report from NPD Group. Overall, the U.S. market for consumer electronics and technology totals about $106 billion. Best Buy's gains came largely on sales of flat-panel TVs and computers, while Wal-Mart won customers by adding more brand names and remodeling stores to feature the electronics departments.
