Breed regulations indicate fear of dog attacks is on the rise

Although the pit bull is often implicated in dog-mauling incidents, a case study by the St. Petersburg Times revealed that deadly attacks in Florida over the past five years were not solely caused by pit bulls but by a variety of breeds. Meanwhile, breed regulations, such as a bill being considered in Florida that would target pit bulls, show that fear over dog attacks and of certain canine breeds is growing.
