LaHood touts economic, environmental benefits of rail

U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood visited Rochester, N.Y., to tout high-speed rail plans in the state. Dozens of business and community leaders came to hear him speak at the city's Amtrak station. "High-speed rail can create thousands of construction, manufacturing, operations and maintenance jobs," he said. "It can also reduce greenhouse gas pollution, lower transportation costs and give families another choice about how to get from here to there."
