Green nutrition helps the environment by reducing the carbon footprint made by the food people eat, says Marianne Schneider, a registered dietitian at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie, Pa. She suggests eating fresh, local fruits and vegetables, consuming less beef, growing foods in a garden, and eating at home more often.
