Sensors can transmit data about structural cracks

A civil engineering study published in the International Journal of Materials and Structural Integrity suggests that wireless nanosensors can provide an early warning when cracks in buildings and bridges are becoming dangerous. Researchers said the sensors can transmit data to expedite awareness of needs for maintenance and repair.
