Flipping the traditional classroom model

The availability of online video has allowed teachers worldwide to "flip" the traditional classroom model, says Salman Khan, founder of nonprofit Khan Academy. Khan, whose free instructional videos have been viewed 45 million times, writes that rather than lecturing during class, teachers are pointing students to online videos they can view on their own -- allowing them to learn at their own pace. Class time in these cases is for problem-solving and discussions.
