GAO report examines selection process for TIGER and HSR funding

The Department of Transportation followed the proper procedure for choosing recipients for high-speed rail projects and TIGER grants, says the Government Accountability Office. However, the agency suggested that more detailed reporting would have been helpful. House Republicans, including Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman John Mica, R-Fla., are saying the Obama administration should provide greater transparency.
