House, Senate panels schedule hearings on FDA's device process

A Senate panel will hold a hearing on Wednesday to discuss the possible changes to the FDA's medical device approval process. Meanwhile, a House subcommittee will meet Thursday to "study the FDA's inconsistent application of reasonable standards for safety and effectiveness in approving medical devices, and the impact it has on American job creators."
