Ill. district opens new facility for teaching life skills

An Illinois school district recently celebrated the opening of a new facility to help students with special needs make the transition to life after graduation. The Transition House will offer a six-week summer program and daily classes beginning this fall to teach students, ages 18 to 21, skills such as budgeting, cooking and meal-planning, plus other independent and social skills.
