Google+ facelift aims to "make sharing more awesome"

Google has given its social network a design overhaul, a move that a Google executive says is intended to help "make sharing more awesome." That means the introduction of Facebook- and Twitter-style features including trending topics, cover pictures and improved photo-handling capabilities. The makeover came as Google+ announced that it has 170 million users on the network, including 50 million who used the service every day for the past month.
