New wind project in Minnesota could create up to 300 jobs

Geronimo Wind Energy is planning to start building the 200-megawatt Prairie Rose Wind Farm in Rock County, Minn., on May 7. Lease payments arising from the project could reach about $1.1 million annually, or $22 million over 20 years, said Justin Pickar, the company's director for development. The project is expected to create up to 300 jobs at the peak of its construction, Pickar said.
