N.Y. schools consider pros, cons of controversial beef product

In response to the controversy surrounding lean, finely textured beef, some schools say they will stop purchasing the product. Others are not so sure. In one New York district, officials say they are considering their options, and another district says it is still unclear whether it has been receiving the product. "As with any food purchase, we would research all factors to make sure the food is safe and nutritious for students before making a decision," said district Superintendent Garry Stone.
