Texas is still No. 1 in wind power generation:

Texas retained its position as the country's leader in wind power generation in 2011, with 10,300 megawatts installed, according to the American Wind Energy Association. Following Texas are Iowa with 4,300 MW and California with 3,900 MW, AWEA said. Wind turbines generated 6.9% of Texas' electricity in 2011, and the industry accounted for 6,000 to 7,000 jobs.
