Neb. schools plan to purchase blenders to make healthy smoothies

Four Nebraska elementary schools will split about $5,000 in Fuel Up to Play 60 grants to further nutrition and fitness programs. Among other things, the funds will go to purchase new blenders to make fruit and yogurt smoothies for students and prepare whole-wheat dough for pizza crust. One school also plans to use its grant to construct a walking track at the school, and another is investing in Wii exercise programs.
