Retailers must change biased swipe-fee websites, judge rules

U.S. District Judge John Gleeson on Thursday gave retail trade groups one week to change their websites that discuss the recent credit card swipe-fee settlement. He ruled that the sites, designed to help companies opt out of the $6 billion settlement with Visa, MasterCard and issuing banks, were biased and might have swayed companies to oppose the settlement. The sites were decried by merchants who helped negotiate the settlement.
