SEC prepares charges against Time Warner

The SEC reportedly is preparing a case against Time Warner that alleges the media giant improperly booked more than $400 million in ad revenue shortly after its 2001 merger with America Online. In particular, the government is concerned about a deal the company made with Bertelsmann, people close to the situation say. A formal letter of notification to Time Warner is likely to go out by early summer.
