The debate about cost and efficiency of wind energy has resurfaced in the United Kingdom, where BT has begun experiments with wind-powered generators to offset the high cost of oil and gas. While supporters claim wind power is an environmentally-friendly and cost-effective alternative to carbon-dioxide emitting fossil fuels, skeptics contend the high costs associated with establishing wind-power generators, which are passed on to consumers, make it economically nonviable.
