Wind gaining growing share of new power generation

Wind power has become one of the largest sources of new power generation, according to the American Wind Energy Association. The U.S. wind energy industry has invested about $4 billion in installing more than 2,400 megawatts of new power generation. The total installed U.S. wind power capacity is more than 11,600 megawatts, or enough to serve 3 million average households.
