College aims for Iowa's first LEED-Platinum structure this summer

Iowa's Central College has worked with The Weitz Co. for a decade on green-construction projects, and the two plan to complete the state's first LEED-Platinum structure this summer. They hope to install a green roof on a $17 million building at the college that includes radiant flooring, recycled construction materials and a building automation system that will provide a daylight-harvesting strategy.
