Delta steps up its environmental efforts

Delta Air Lines is striving to reduce its carbon footprint with steps such as water conservation and reducing landfill waste. The carrier created an environmental department more than 20 years ago, and it has kept hundreds of tons of recyclables and masses of aircraft carpet from being dumped into landfills. "We continue to seek ways to reduce our footprint, whether it be for waste or for emission," said Mike Morgan, manager of environmental sustainability at Delta.
