Innovative materials, design would allow for faster bridge building

Building materials made with fiberglass and reinforced with carbon fibers may make it possible to use a bridge just two weeks after its construction begins, according to a Swedish scientist. The process likely is several years from being ready, although a study found that such a bridge could be built now, but at high cost.
