Caterpillar helps the Dow break 11,000

Caterpillar was one of the best-performing stocks Monday, helping the Dow Jones industrial average to close higher than 11,000, a milestone that was last achieved in September 2008. Caterpillar shares closed at $66.73, up 2.2%. Robert W. Baird & Co. upgraded the stock to "outperform" from "neutral," citing higher machinery production and a projected increase in global mining capital expenditures.
