China will decide yuan's future, Hu tells Obama

Chinese President Hu Jintao told U.S. President Barack Obama that China will make its own decisions about the future of the yuan. Obama brought up the issue of the yuan's value during a meeting in Washington, D.C., between the leaders, according to China's Xinhua News Agency. While making it clear that China would not give in to U.S. pressure to change its exchange-rate policy, Hu indicated that his country plans to reform the way it controls the yuan's value.
