High-glycemic foods are linked to heart disease in women

A study found women who consumed the most amount of carbohydrates with a high glycemic index had double the risk of heart disease compared with women who consumed the lowest amount of high-glycemic foods. Foods with a low glycemic index did not have the same correlation, and no effect was seen in men.
