Morgan Stanley CEO urges cooperation, coordination on regulation

James Gorman, CEO at Morgan Stanley, is urging the financial industry to work with lawmakers, regulators and other officials in overhauling regulation of the sector. In a letter to shareholders, Gorman said government officials should work with their foreign counterparts "to coordinate standards and enforcement and prevent 'regulatory arbitrage,' through which some market players seek competitive advantage by exploiting regulatory differences."
