Several Asian issuers plan to tap international bond markets

Credit markets appear to be improving, as evidenced by announcements that four Asian issuers are planning to raise funds through international bond markets. The deals suggest investor demand is returning and issuers are comfortable with market conditions. "While the additional issuance gives rise to some supply pressure, we expect this to be well digested given the strength in the overall market and low levels of new bank subordinated-bond issuances in the region," said Yang Myung Hong, a Nomura credit analyst.
