Some Florida 5th-graders receive introduction to college path

The University of Central Florida in Orlando recently hosted 115 fifth-graders from a nearby school for its first College Discovery Day, which was aimed at introducing the young students to higher education. "It is important for fifth-graders to begin thinking about their futures and to know about the options they will have when they finish high school," one teacher said. "The students were able to see both the academic and social aspects of college life."
