Calif. county aims to enforce xeriscaping on county buildings

The County Board of Supervisors in Imperial County, Calif., has approved a new policy that will mandate all county buildings to adopt xeriscaping, a form of landscape design that needs less irrigation and maintenance. The new ordinance is geared at promoting water conservation to public agencies and private residents, said Deputy County Executive Officer Andy Horne.
