Melanoma detection software nabs tech challenge award

Mobile software designed to allow for early melanoma detection has been named the winner of a technology challenge co-sponsored by the Veterans Affairs Department and the West Wireless Health Institute. Called Veterans Melanoma Early Warning System, the technology is used in conjunction with a card that is applied to the skin to take images of moles and track changes over time. It allows users to capture and send images to dermatologists for assessment.
