Regulatory reform would help chemicals industry, says ACI CEO

The Toxic Substances Control Act needs to be reformed to grant the Environmental Protection Agency more regulatory authority, said American Cleaning Institute CEO Ernie Rosenberg. Without a strong federal presence, he added, chemicals companies will continue to be pressured from retailers and state governments taking on the role of regulator. Rosenberg noted ACI's efforts toward safer chemicals, adding, "The fact that you have so few chemicals regulated is a sign that [TSCA] is working."
