Some lawmakers support biometric screening for crews

Some House Democrats this week continued to push for the Transportation Security Administration to switch to biometric screening for airline crews. Current law allows the TSA to put a biometric system in place. "The inclusion of a biometric component is an important step in the augmentation of a risk-based aviation security program," Reps. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., and Sheila Jackson-Lee, D-Texas, wrote in a letter to TSA Administrator John Pistole.
