Tennessee district considers bonuses for NBCTs, top teachers

The school board in Knox County, Tenn., is considering a plan that would award bonuses to teachers for improving student achievement or making other gains, such as earning National Board Certification. According to district surveys, 72% of teachers said they would like to receive cash bonuses for good job performances.
