Cargo planes transport live animals around the world

Transporting animals such as prized racehorses is a small, but lucrative, segment of the $66 billion air-cargo industry. Lufthansa, Air France-KLM Group and Emirates offer cargo flights specially designed to carry live animals. The aircraft used has to be modified for temperature, and in-flight veterinarians attend to the animals.
