Ohio may delay new school-rating system

Ohio might delay for one year new school report cards that give schools A through F grades, officials said Thursday. The report cards, which consider factors such as graduation rates and student test scores, are meant to help parents and the community evaluate the quality of schools, but they may not receive the required approvals in time for use as planned in August. The new system is part of the state's request for a No Child Left Behind waiver, the fate of which is expected to be decided next month.
