Patent wars escalate on several fronts

As Apple and its rivals continue to engage in cutthroat patent litigation over even the most modest wireless features, so-called "non practicing entities" are bringing more lawsuits against smartphone manufacturers, according to two separate reports. A Texas shell company has sued Apple and Research in Motion in federal court, saying they stole patents for basic cellphone features such as tapping, scrolling and dragging.
