Quantum computing inches closer to reality

Research physicists from the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics have developed a new way for quantum bits to operate as a kind of communications network, and another group of scientists at Harvard has figured out how to get the bits to act in a predictable way. Both developments represent the latest advancements in creating a working quantum computer. Scientists say they will now turn their attention toward building multiple quantum bits for computation and error correcting.
