Biotechs in race to find ethanol source alternatives

Conscious of the industry's impact on corn prices, the U.S. biotech industry has scientists looking into many alternative sources in a race against time. The nation has 114 ethanol refiners in operation and 80 more being built, nearly all of them relying on corn. The increased demand has caused corn prices to nearly double over the last two years.
