ASTA considers options about dispute with airlines

The Travel Agent Arbiter's decision not to hear the dispute between the travel agent community and airlines about carriers' use of ARC's Payment Express to gather fees from agencies for alleged policy violations has prompted ASTA to look at its options. "We're not going to give it up. There has to be jurisdiction to hear this problem somewhere. So it's a question of which court, which parties, when? We're looking at all the options," said Paul Ruden, ASTA's vice president of legal and industry affairs.
